Birmingham 2022 is looking for a Workforce Communications Assistant to join our friendly team. Reporting to the Workforce Communications Coordinator, the Workforce Communications Assistant will support the range of communications for B2022 workforce (staff, volunteers and contractors) as well as assisting with requests from across the Organising Committee.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge and ready to try something new. The right candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be willing to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and will have effective organisational skills to support the successful delivery of the communications work plan.


Responsibilities

  • Support the drafting, editing and proofreading of key communication documents and materials, such as touchpoint emails, newsletters and key projects content
  • Provide general administrative and organisational support including template creation and collating, maintaining and scheduling content for Workforce communication across a range of systems including the workforce management system and the learning management system
  • Help maintain the Workforce communications timeline and work plan
  • Liaise with the wider Workforce team and Functional Areas on communication timelines
  • Liaise with and support the Contact Centre in answering queries and providing relevant communications
  • Take on the unique opportunity of a Games Time role

Skills and experience

Essential

  • At least 5 GCSEs graded A-C or an equivalent Level 2 NVQ / apprenticeship qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience of learning and using databases and systems
  • Ability to build relationships, with strong people skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English language and grammar skills


Desirable

  • Experience in a similar communications role
  • Experience in writing for a range of audiences and contexts
  • Experience of volunteering

Salary - £20,000 per annum
