If so, Birmingham 2022 is looking to recruit a Project Manager to support one of the most important departments in ensuring the Games success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate scope and deliverables;
  • Manage and track all key deliverables and milestones using a Smartsheet project plan highlighting any delays;
  • Create and maintain all project documentation including a RAID log, action tracker and status report;
  • Log risks and issues appropriately with mitigations so that they can be escalated through the programme when required;
  • Facilitate a weekly working group and outputs;
  • Ensure organised and effective storage of all information on sharepoint and provide access as required to project team and stakeholders;
  • Ensure effective stakeholder management across the Organising Committee, external partners and suppliers, monitoring inter-dependencies;
  • Share a weekly status reports to give transparency on progress and any key concerns;
  • Facilitate and set up workshops and meetings as required by workstreams within the project;
  • Liaise regularly with the Security Programme manager.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Recognised expertise in project management with experience managing fast paced change;
  • Competent facilitator of meetings to ensure required objectives are met and captured;
  • Experience managing challenging stakeholders, ensuring meetings stay on track;
  • Experience managing multiple dependencies and managing team priorities and stakeholder expectations;
  • Clear understanding of risk and issue management with experience creating risk logs and ensuring suitable risk mitigations are in place and managed effectively;
  • Competent project planner;
  • Proven experience managing the full life cycle of projects;
  • Able to create status reports that clearly reflect progress against the plan, highlighting any blocking factors that need escalation;
  • Project management qualification prince 2 or equivalent;
  • Understanding of Smartsheet software;
  • Previous sporting event or games experience.

Start date: ASAP

Salary: upto £45,000 per annum

Location: One Brindley Place, Birmingham (Office based role)
