Birmingham 2022 is looking for an experienced and engaging Workforce and Training Manager to join the Village Operations (VIL) Functional Area (FA). The Athletes Village Workforce and Training Manager will define and lead the operational planning and delivery for the VIL workforce and training FA, working with other Birmingham 2022 FAs to develop operational plans for each of the services provided to the Commonwealth Games Village (CGV), (including Satellite Villages). This includes working with key stakeholders to strategise, plan and deliver the workforce recruitment and training programme.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing the recruitment, onboarding and training of largescale workforces, with a passion for creating exciting and engaging content that offers unique and interesting ways to learn. If you have a background in HR, recruitment, training or project management and want to play a pivotal role in building and coordinating Birmingham 2022's Athletes Village workforce, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Create a strategy to deliver the recruitment, onboarding, and role-specific training for the hundreds of roles required for the Athletes Villages (multi-site role).
  • Plan a detailed training plan for all VIL workforce including customer service, role-specific and venue-specific training.
  • Develop exciting and engaging content for role-specific and venue-specific training days including face-to-face and online training.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of onboarding for all VIL workforce, including an intensive month-long training programme for Games-time only staff.
  • Work with our VIL venue owners on their recruitment strategy, SLAs and training requirements.
  • Manage the contractor integration piece across all the villages and venue owners. This includes managing the contractor portal and ensuring they are keeping to the milestones required.
  • Develop VIL training policies and procedures and other operational documentation as required as well as written and verbal reporting.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding and training activities for largescale paid and/or volunteer workforces.
  • Significant experience in writing and delivering personnel training.
  • Extensive knowledge of training strategies and techniques to be able to reach a wide audience.
  • Experience in the programme management of complex projects.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Start Date: 01/11/2021
Location: One Brindley Place, Birmingham (office-based)
